Issue Number 10- Fall 1996

Editorial Comment Highlights

Numbers, what a concept. Humanity loves to count. We count up, we count down.We measure distance, time, quantity, quality, cold, heat. Life is meaningless without numbers, even to the editorial staff here at the humble offices of the Claremont Review.

Yes, even here the urge to enumerate thrives. This is our tenth issue, and the miraculous fact, its sheer mathematical impact leaves us speechless...well almost. We still need to tell you how speechless.

We take pride in knowing that we provide a vehicle for the voices of young artists at a time in their lives when encouragement and incentive are vital.

Feature Interview Excerpt
I think writing or becoming a writer, is an individual journey, and it's different for everyone. In the end, I think being driven to write is more important than talent. Looking back I realize how little I knew and how little that mattered. I just plunged in and wrote.
