It is Spring. Spring in
Victoria is sometimes a little hard to take:
so much pink, so much yellow. The open mouths
of tulips calling us to come out so early to
come outside to play. |
| |
| The sun through the kitchen
window shows winters clutter, shows how much
we need to clean up the mess we've made in the
dark over the past four months. So cautiously
we venture out. |
|
| In this spring issue, the big
belly of winter sun is ready to kick back and
turn up the heat. The characters in these stories
laugh at themselves and recover, try to hide their
discomfort but inevitably are found out. |
|
| In these pages there is nowhere
to hide. And as Sarah Martel says in the opening
poem 'everything suddenly / becomes clear.' |
