Issue Number 8 - Fall 1995

Editorial Comment Highlights

After working with literally hundreds of scribes over the last 8 issues, one thing that stands out about the writing of today's young adult writers is the plethora of issues they seem willing and eager to tackle.

We turn most back with suggestions about how the author might be able to turn that final corner that differentiates a polished literary piece from a draft.

Those we reject share with those we accept an amazing variety of themes.

Feature Interview Excerpt

I do not think that writers think about messages. You do not wake up in the morning and say that you are going to write a poem about specific ideas. That is not where literature comes from.

I am a very dark writer and I have known that for years. A lot of people have commented on the darkness of my writing, but I really do not know why it is there. I have no idea.
